Goals for March 4th Meeting.

my goals for the March 4th meeting are to :

  1. Make more posters, preferably colorful with facts.
  2. Find out where we are with the small bins we want to get for every classroom in the school.
  3. Order larger containers for the hallways
  4. Elect someone to do morning "recycling and earth facts" on the announcements.

This is the link to Philadelphia's recycling website, & it tells times for pickup, what kinds of containers to use, and most importantly, what to and what NOT to recycle.

Recycling Links

http://www.world.org/weo/recycling

This website is useful, because it gives you a list of the most helpful and useful websites for Recycling. Here are the most useful i found out of the bunch:

http://www.epa.gov/epawaste/partnerships/wastewise/index.htm

This is an EPA sponsored website, catering to waste reduction and recycling in general. It's initives include, but not limited to: recycling organic materials, paper, packaging containers, etc.

http://www.use-less-stuff.com/

Use Less Stuff is an online newsletter that has been out since 1994. Its grown to become a resource outlet that teaches people how and what to recycle with the help of their newsletter.
Reflection: Wednesdays Meeting.

Least Wednesdays meeting was, in my opinion, very productive. We called the city to get small recycling bins for every class room and obtained a grant from Penn cord to get big recycling containers for the hallways. Me and Ashley went around to every group and handed out posters advertising it, while everyone else made decorative posters to hang around the school, telling everyone how they should recycle and how it helps the enviorment.

Successes:

  • We did our last meeting review.
  • We spread the awareness around school.
  • We created posters.

Areas That Need Improvement:

  • Some people need to stay on task.
  • We need to figure out a way to get recycling known (morning announcements)
Personal Goals and Responsibility

  • Spread the word of recycling outside of school
  • clean up the trash from a park (:
  • Make sure the group carries out our goals.
